The Manager Stakeholder Engagement at Enbridge will play a pivotal role in providing strategic direction on municipal and stakeholder engagement. In this role, you will lead the coordination, management and execution of key engagement activities to ensure an effective and positive influence on municipal government and stakeholders to support Enbridge Inc business objectives.

Here's what you will do:

  • Steer the development and implementation of a strong, proactive engagement program focused on strategy, tactics and communications with municipal government, key stakeholders and customers.

  • Expand Enbridge's overall network of political and departmental staff in key municipalities and policy influencers.

  • Be the spokesperson for Enbridge at key events including but not limited to Chamber of Commerce, Energy Panels, Municipal driven events etc.

  • Develop and implement the yearly stakeholder engagement plan driven by Enbridge Gas Inc priorities.

  • Ensure the development and execution of community engagement plans for pipeline projects, community expansion projects.

  • Keep a check on the broad political, legislative and regulatory agendas to identify issues relevant to Enbridge’s operations, business development, performance and profitability.

  • Research and write reports to government officials to accommodate their requests for information briefings, and to support presentations to Enbridge senior management.

  • Work with the Enbridge Public Affairs and Communications team to coordinate messaging, programs to indigenous stakeholders, government stakeholders and community donations and events.

Who are you:

Required:

  • University degree along with 10 years of progressive experience in responsible public relations/public affairs/or government relations.

  • Outstanding ability to influence, public speaking and communication skills.

  • Highly organized with exceptional ability to lead multiple priorities/projects within the target timelines.

  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of public policy formulation processes.

Preferred:

  • Strong management, coordination, and event execution skills.

  • Strong research and writing skills, and exemplified success in writing and implementing communication plans.

Working Conditions:

  • Travel is required 30% of the time within Ontario. A valid Ontario G class Ontario driver’s license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required.
