South Jersey Industries Manager Field Operations in United States
A career in Field Operations Leadership will provide the opportunity to lead and manage above ground, distribution, measurement, and pipeline activities in support of the organization’s strategic business operations activities. Roles within Field Operations Leadership are responsible for all fieldwork relating to gas services. This includes, directing, coordinating, implementing, and planning distribution activities relating to the gas service customers (residential and commercial). The team is also responsible for all under-ground pipeline distribution and above-ground maintenance and/or measurement. The team is responsible for managing relationships with multiple municipalities.
Roles and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:• Managing people and project resources to enable individual development and successful project outcomes• Assigning work and providing guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies• Providing input into process and policy improvement and administering budgets, timelines and performance requirements• Providing coaching and guidance on job performance and career development to direct reportsThis role will require understanding of how the team relates to other related areas and use that knowledge to improve efficiency and produce high-quality work on problems with cross-functional impact. You will solve moderately complex problems and lead others to solve issues of diverse scope, which require an in-depth understanding of the issue at hand. Additionally, you will use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.It is expected that your decisions will impact others in the immediate team and influence results.You will manage, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing.Additionally, the level and nature of interaction of your role includes:• Managing work of and actively directing professional development of direct reports• Appropriately delegating/collaborating cross-functionally on assignments for growth of direct reportsThis is a role that contributes through the direct supervision and/or leadership of others by accomplishing results through those subordinate team members.
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or; • Master’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience. • In addition, a minimum of 1 year of leadership experience is required. • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
