Job Summary

ThePPLDesign Team is seeking aLeadExperienceDesignerto build compelling, intuitive, and user-centered digital experiences to delight andsupportusers.The Lead Experience Designer wouldwork closely withDesign Managers,members of thedesign/research teamand product teams toprovide an imaginative, unique and innovative visual voice to support our products and services in the energy field.You will bethevisionary, advocate, and evangelist of user experiences acrossmultipleplatforms.In thisroleyouwill look at the big picture and understand what problem needs to be solved by collaborating with our research and product teams to create elegant solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand problem spaces and opportunities within them and develop strategies to own the work of the design team and drive innovation with thought and purpose.

  • Assist the Design Manager in ideating on decks, storyboards, interactions and design system components to be on brand and visually compelling within a well-established, large energy company.

  • Ensure all visual storytelling and design for the organization is smart, engaging, exciting and well-executed.

  • Apply keen attention to detail throughout each step of the creative process.

  • Advocate on behalf of the user through design thinking and the utilization of research findings.

  • Work closely with the creative leads, design and research team members,product managers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure thatfeature workis in line with KPIs and the creative voice of the brand.

  • Work directly with the Design Manager and Director of Design on all aspects of creative execution, from planning through the production and delivery phases.

  • Help to inspire, motivate, and guide the members of the design and product organizations.

  • Mentor emerging design talent in understanding the right balance between business, design and end-user needs.

  • Care deeply about fostering an environment where people of all backgrounds and experiences can flourish.

May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and7+years of related work experience OR10+years of related work experience

  • Strong relationshipmanagement skills, with ability to work on Agile, cross-functional teams

  • Experience working in a solution delivery environment

  • Experience creating user journeys, service design blueprints, user flows and other various tools to communicate design decisions.

  • Able to clearly articulate abstract and / or complex ideas and concepts.

  • Comfortable working in new and unknown problem spaces and pushing past initial ideas to discover new areas of interest.

  • Experience with project and stakeholder management.

  • Ability to set realistic benchmarks and goals and manage the work it takes to achieve them.
