$17.00-22.00 per hour


Intern Position for Full Time Summer 2019


Flexible hours between Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Intern Description:

Interns will learn, analyze and develop strategies to implement renewable energy resources and energy storage solutions.

Potential field assignments for the interns may include visiting solar and wind sites, studying energy storage technology, collaborating with distribution and transmission engineering and understanding power marketing.

Interns will develop skills to plan, organize and perform renewable project analysis as well as provide recommendations for improvements. Seeking highly motivated candidates with excellent communication skills.


Job tasks include but not limited to:

• Evaluating renewable technologies and their application for electric utilities

• Collaborating across departments including Transmission & Distribution, Generation, Power Marketing and Regulatory.

• Communicating with project stakeholders

• Performing field visits to lay out potential installations

• Perform Budget and planning tasks

• Updating Spreadsheets

• Assisting with Process Improvements


Qualifications:

Education and Experience Requirements:

Open to students who are pursuing a degree in Engineering, with a preference for those who are specializing a field related to energy production, energy storage or energy transportation.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:

• Excellent communication, public relations, teamwork and technical skills.

• Strong math, business/technical writing and technical reading skills.

• Skills are necessary in planning, organizing, oral and written communication, prioritizing and team building.

• Financial Analysis skills a plus


Working Conditions:

Mostly office conditions at various locations with continuous attention to performing work of high quality and accuracy in a safe manner. Occasional field observations will involve work outdoors within driving distance of work location.
