Design Intern Description:
The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Design Services Manager on a variety of technical and nontechnical assignments related to company's electric distribution system. This position will provide a good opportunity for an engineering

student to become familiar with design and engineering practices, technical analysis, and field operations related to the distribution system with a focus on design of large distribution line construction projects.

Job tasks include but not limited to:
•Creating construction maps and instructions
•Developing project cost estimates
•Communicating and collaborating with project stakeholders
•Performing field visits to determine design and customer requirements
•Perform Budget and planning tasks
•Updating Spreadsheets
•Assisting with Process Improvements

Education and Experience Requirements:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university or technical program in one of the following or a related technical field:

Construction Technology; Construction Science; Electrical Technology; Electrical Engineering Technology; Industrial Engineering Technology; Mechanical Engineering Technology; Power Plant Technology; Computer Aided Drafting; Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering; Civil Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
•Excellent communication, public relations, teamwork and technical skills.
•Strong math, business/technical writing and technical reading skills.
•Experience in the use of computer-aided drafting, spreadsheets, word processing, and applicable engineering software.
•Skills are necessary in planning, organizing, oral and written communication, prioritizing and team building.
•Ability to quickly learn and become proficient in use of new computer software and programs.

Working Conditions:
Office conditions with continuous attention to performing work of high quality and accuracy in a safe manner.With use of a company vehicle, occasional field inspections/observations will involve work outdoors within driving distance of work location.
