ABOUT THE ROLE
MYR Group and its subsidiaries have current openings for experienced Electrical Construction Estimators.
Estimators ensure competitiveness, profitability, and growth for the company while maintaining and growing relationships with internal and external customers and clients. We are looking for various levels of talented estimators who thrive in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
Estimators are primarily responsible for preparing cost estimates for various electrical construction projects, by collecting and studying cost information, evaluating bid specifications and drawings, and ensuring a successful bid.

Essential Functions
Dependent upon level of position responsibilities may include:
Complete cost estimates for assigned projects, with definable work tasks for electrical construction projects
Develop estimates with minor errors/omissions
Utilize previous work/bidding history to establish production assumptions
Track and compare project histories to produce up to date man hours and cost
Plan and execute work while meeting customer defined submission deadlines
Schedule and attend field job walk with customer, subcontractor, and construction personnel to determine constructability requirements
Attend on-site pre-bid meetings and perform job site visits
Field job walks and pre-bid meeting may require travel/overnight stays
Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors
Perform accurate material takeoffs to supply to vendor for pricing
Solicit material vendor pricing and subcontractor proposals including assembly and distribution of project documentation into RFQ/RFP packages
Prepare commercial aspects of proposals, including work plans, clarifications/exceptions, etc.
Create/utilize construction schedule
Lead estimate review process with internal and external stake holders
Participate in job close-out meetings at the end of a project to close any loops in the estimating process
Dependent upon experience, may lead the estimating team and manage bidding activities
Dependent upon experience, may support other estimators with bidding activities and training
Regular and predictable attendance
Other duties as assigned
Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
Dependent upon the position we require a minimum of 2–8 years of experience in electrical construction estimating
Some positions may require experience estimating in transmission, distribution, or substation projects
Some positions may require experience estimating in commercial or industrial projects
Preferred Education for all levels:
High school diploma or GED or
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledgeable of the N.E.C and local codes
Able to read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, etc. plans and specifications to include blueprints, proposals and other relevant documents
Knowledgeable of electrical materials and methods of installation
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and estimating software
Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills
Team player mentality
Self-driven with the ability to stay on-task for extended periods of time while working independently
WHAT WE OFFER
Compensation & Benefits
Salary $75,000 - $142,000 / year
Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
