POSITION: Distribution Technician II Special Standards OCR: 63977 LOCATION: Augusta ME (Augusta General Office)RATE OF PAY: $24.26 POSTING DATE: 7/16/18 REMOVAL DATE: 7/25/18

Job Summary:

Provides technical support in the areas of materials standards and construction standards.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support for all construction standards issues, including material and construction to company Operations Department and Private Line Contractors and other Utilities.
  2. Primary responsibility for SAP material compatible unit interface and compatible unit development.
  3. Keep records and track of reports of failed material and hardware.
  4. Work with vendors and manufacturers on resolving issues with failed materials and hardware.
  5. Work with representatives of parent company to keep SAP Operating Equipment and Material records accurate.
  6. Issue electronic forms to create new or modify existing Material I. D. numbers.
  7. Work on various projects and teams, including the Distribution construction Standards Committee.
  8. Maintain MPUC mandated Private Line Contractor’s Material and Hardware Catalog.
  9. Serves as project coordinator on assigned projects.
  10. Assists during storm restoration.
  11. Other ancillary duties related to the core functions of the job as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of Distribution Network Construction, Standards, Materials and Equipment.

Required Education:

  • Completion of 2 year program in engineering, engineering technology, electronics, surveying, or similar field, ETQ

exam, or First Class Line Worker experience.
