AltaGas - Plant Operator (Sundre)

Enerchem Partnership, an AltaGas Company, is seeking a Plant Operator for our Hydrocarbon Fractionation Plant in Sundre, Alberta! The successful candidate will work a seven-day on, seven off rotation schedule, 12 hours per shift, including days and nights.

Please note that this is not a camp-based position and requires the successful candidate to reside in the area to be available for callouts.

You will:

  • Operate and maintain the plant and associated equipment in a safe, effective, and productive manner while working as part of the operating team under the supervision of the Lead Operator

  • Prepare multiple types of safe work permits for contractors and prepare work areas for maintenance, including lockout/tagout of equipment

  • Perform process and equipment condition monitoring, complete area operations records such as routine readings, volume balances, log sheets, car seal control documentation, and P&ID updates

  • Adhere to all safe operating and chemical handling procedures and ensure assets are operated according to design. Participate in the development, review, and revision of Safe Operating Procedures.

  • Assist with the bulk loading and unloading of trucks transporting fluids.

  • Rotate through a lab position, ensuring quality control of our products.

You Bring:

  • 2+ years of experience in gas plant operations required.

  • Valid 4th Class Power Engineering certification is an asset.

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong safety skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent mathematical skills.

  • Must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

This is a safety-sensitive position and requires the successful candidate to complete alcohol, drug, and background check verification.
