South Jersey Industries Account Manager in United States

Position Summary

South Jersey Industries Energy Advisors is seeking an eager individual, ready to build relationships, cultivate sales, and network with established organizations in an assigned territory. Our Account Managers promote consultation for the procurement of natural gas, electric, and other energy services to commercial and industrial customers within identified markets.

  • Attend our extensive training courses, which develop best practices for our Account Managers to achieve success.

  • Develop, cultivate, and build long lasting relationships with new customers and applicants.

  • Provide attractive renewal proposals to existing commercial customers to maintain and enhance current relationships.

  • Keep abreast of all tariff trends and regulations that impact natural gas, electric, and other energy services.

  • Analyze customer volume requirements and create savings analysis for customers.

  • Produce required sales and/or activity reports to evaluate growth potential and opportunities sourced.

  • Perform duties inherent in all supervisors, professional and administrative positions.

  • Consistent with all positions in this classification, additional projects, tasks, and/or duties beyond what is outlined here may be assigned as required.

  • Potential customer and referral contacts in states where electric and or natural gas supply is de-regulated.


  • Preferably a four-year degree in marketing or business administration.

  • Significant relevant experience may be substituted for the education requirement.

  • A minimum of two years sales experience preferably commercial door to door sales.

  • Willingness and ability to place cold calls, via phone and in person to new prospects.

  • Strong interpersonal skills required.

  • A working knowledge of basic computer applications (Word, Excel) and CRM sales tools

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers in a competitive environment.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member, as well as independently. Ability to be creative while performing in a fast- paced work environment.

  • The successful candidate must be highly motivated to grow a book of business
