We are currently looking for a Skilled Mechanical Technician to join our operations team, undertaking Mechanical maintenance, inspection and repair of the various Mechanical equipment onsite. As this role covers the West region (an hour’s drive radius from Warwick), you won’t be based out of a site so travel and some overnight stays will be essential

As a Mechanical Technician you will:

  • Undertake Mechanical maintenance, inspection and repair of the various mechanical equipment on our Compressor Stations (Gas Turbine Machinery trains, centrifugal compressors and associated plant), and Above Ground Installations (AGI’s) (Pipework, Process Valves, etc) within the assigned geographic area.

  • Maintain accurate site maintenance, asset, operational and safe control of operations records of all work activities and operations undertaken to ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulatory requirements

  • Support the construction and commissioning of new assets onto the gas transmission system and other related projects in accordance with relevant policies and procedures

  • Actively develop, review and update emergency, security, safety, operational and environmental plans and procedures to ensure safe and cost-effective operation of plant and equipment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure that the high-pressure pipeline system is protected, including the monitoring of third-party work, aerial sighting response, cathodic protection monitoring, support of the in-line inspection programme, and undertake competent person role associated with routine and low complex non routine operational procedure

  • Oversee and inspect work activities undertaken by contractors and working party members where required to provide assurance that technical and safety compliance standards are being maintained and undertaken

  • Undertake site operations, including isolations and the use of permitry

  • Identify the requirement to replace/upgrade existing plant and equipment as well as participating in the design of minor modifications, and the provision of technical supportwithin discipline and competencies as required.

  • Be part of a call-out standby rota, maximizing asset and plant availability/reliability.

About You

Self-motivated: is organised and able to work independently as well as being able to work effectively within a multi-disciplined team.

Adaptable: You’ll make informed decisions when on site and report your findings to both internal and external stakeholders at various levels to ensure we continue to provide a world class service.

You will be the ‘go to person’ for all things Mechanical, so we are looking for someone who has a background within utilities and has proven mechanical experience. You’ll be joining a committed and dynamic team so having both the ambition and knowledge to drive excellence within this customer focused environment is key!

Knowledge & Experience required

  • Knowledge and experience gained within an engineering discipline of Mechanical.

  • Experience in fault diagnosis and rectification

  • Experience with the operation and maintenance of high pressure gas transmission pipelines.

What You'll Get

A competitive salary between £32,868- £38,668– dependent on capability alongside a access to a livered vehicle & shift allowances

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
