This is a description for an administrative position. Training Associate should be an entry level position leading to Training Specialist.

Job Purpose

The Training Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, development, and execution of specialized training programs for MasTec employees. This position works with personnel in various departments.

Essential Functions

  1. Prioritize/execute safety training programs & courses of OH/UG electric distribution utility infrastructure construction.

  2. Track, coordinate and conduct training for the Electrical Apprenticeship trainees, ensuring involvement and compliance with program requirements. Perform electrical assessments.

  3. Deliver training to MasTec employees.

  4. Generate and publish training completion reporting for compliance purposes and management awareness.

  5. Evaluate training programs and provide recommendations for improvement to ensure efficacy.

  6. Assist in developing and updating course rosters and inputting training completion data in the Learning Management System.

  7. Utilize various media and learning methods to develop and revise training programs.

  8. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent. Comfortable presenting safety and skills training information in front of groups, up to 30 people.

  2. Must have experience/proficiency in OH/UG electric operations and procedures. Strong computer and communication skills.

  3. Strong safety training and Spanish bi-lingual skills are assets to be successful.

  4. Strong computer skills, including knowledge of visual design tools (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Photoshop).

  5. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.

  6. Ability to operate office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. 3 or more years experience developing and conducting employee training.

  2. Previous experience with Learning Management Systems.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is primarily sedentary, with some filing or lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
