Southwire Job Description

The site leader is responsible for all performance objectives of the site and for driving continuous improvement while developing the site leadership team. Responsible for leading one of our most critical Customer Service Centers (Distribution Centers), West Georgia CSC, located in Villa Rica, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met.

• Utilize lean tools daily to ensure continuous improvement of all KPIs. This is inclusive of safety, quality, customer service, cost, inventory, security, and team member engagement.

• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety in compliance with OHSA & Southwire standards.

• Continuously improve our customer experience through innovative service offerings and performance in collaboration with sales organization.

• Create long-range labor needs based upon demand forecasts and sponsor the leadership team to execute on plans.

• Develop programs to improve operations and present business case to senior leadership.

• Direct the leadership team and operations warehouse team members to achieve prescribed objectives.

• Develop and oversee all team members to ensure an efficient and cost-effective operation.

• Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in leading, supervising, and coaching.

• Through personal leadership, ensure that a positive and efficient work environment is created and maintained.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or related degree preferred.

• 5+ years of proven operations or distribution management experience required.

• Prior operations manager or value stream manager experience is preferred.

• Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all warehouse operations.

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills along with exceptional interpersonal skills.

• Must be able to interface and communicate effectively within the organization, with business units throughout the company, and with external customers/agents.
