Become an Underground Civil Construction Supervisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be responsible for the supervision of Residential/Commercial Underground Inspectors (Q Cntrl/Inspection, Specialists) to ensure compliance with plans, specification and quality of workmanship on the installation of conduit and structures for new development.

  • Ensure that all aspects directly related to the inspection of residential and commercial underground tracts are optimized.

  • Conduct performance reviews, provide career development, and interface with staff regarding work load, employee recognition and discipline.

  • Establish and enforce departmental safety and compliance goals as they relate to residential underground tract inspections.

Qualifications

The essentials

  • One or more years’ experience performing or supervising activities related to underground construction, design or civil engineering.

  • Experience using Microsoft applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Valid Driver’s License.

The preferred

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in the field of underground civil construction, service planning, field construction, public works construction.

  • Experience with Edison Manuals as well as the associated regulatory requirements.

  • Experience with industry drafting standards, construction practices, and specifications.

  • Experience reading blueprints, stationing, surveys, and other utility drawings.

  • Delegating and monitoring the progress of assignments and holding employees accountable for results.

  • Analyze information and make sound decisions that have moderate to significant business impact.

  • Interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, management, and other work units.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • This position’s area of responsibility is North Coast, North Valley, and San Joaquin Valley Regions.

  • This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
