In this job, you will provide oversight activities related to the Quality Control (QC) inspection programs to include but not be limited to, Pole Loading Inspection, Work Order Planning & Closure, Intrusive Pole Inspection, Overhead Distribution Construction Inspections, Overhead Transmission Construction Inspections and Overhead Detailed Inspections of distribution circuits. Conduct and document final inspections and/or assessments to assure compliance with Southern California Edison (SCE) Construction & Design Standards as well as Regulatory requirements including CPUC, GO95, GO165; and verify that the construction and design requirements have been achieved by performance of independent inspections.

You will provide oversight activities related to the Quality Control (QC) inspection programs to include but not be limited to, Intrusive Pole Inspection, Overhead Distribution Construction Inspections, Overhead Transmission Construction Inspections and Overhead Detailed Inspections of distribution circuits. Conduct and document final inspections and/or assessments to assure compliance with Southern California Edison (SCE) Construction & Design Standards as well as Regulatory requirements including CPUC, GO95, GO165; and verify that the construction and design requirements have been achieved by performance of independent inspections.
Perform independent and/or team assessments of work performed to assure results obtained by peers are valid.
Provide guidance and recommendations during the QC peer review and checkpoint process.
Identify, recommend, and implement process improvement opportunities/enhancements.
When non-conformances /discrepancies are identified, provide feedback, recommendations, and analysis (as applicable), to the responsible vendor and SCE departments.
Stay ahead of QC processes by participating in technical, safety, and program development training.
Maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The essentials
Five or more years in Inspections, Electrical Planning, Overhead Distribution Construction, Groundman, Apprentice Lineman or related electrical utility field experience.
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Email, Internet, and iPad applications.
Valid CA Driver’s License.
The preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, physical sciences, or other related technical field
Experience planning and developing Distribution work orders.
Experience performing close tolerance measurements with optical and/or laser measurement tools.
Experience with dimensional modeling software.
Knowledge of Transmission & Distribution overhead design and construction standards.
Broad knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and civil construction.
Ability to demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay up to date with relevant technology and innovation.
Ability to effectively communicate technical information, both orally and in writing, to technical and non-technical personnel.
You should know
This position’s work mode is on-site . The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

Position will require being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory and will require overnight stays periodically
