ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Strategy and Leadership:

  • Take a strong lead in the development of the company’s annual and strategic plans, including competitor performance and market trends.

  • Work with the CEO to ensure the company’s strategic direction is clearly articulated to the investment community in a fashion that maximizes value creation.

  • Ensure that sound financial controls, policies and procedures are in place to safeguard the company’s assets, providing timely and accurate information, and maintaining control of the operations.

  • Manage the capital structure to provide capital for growth, maximizing cash flow and minimizing financial risk.

  • Enhance/develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve the overall performance of the corporation. This includes developing and reinforcing disciplined capital allocation decision-making and investment follow-up processes to ensure that capital is optimally deployed across the portfolio and increases the return on invested capital for the company.

  • Build a “best-in-class” finance team focused on serving customers and delivering results, while minimizing bureaucratic systems and controls. This should include a strong emphasis on leadership development and building succession depth.

  • Maintain the commercial and investment banking relationships necessary to meet the company’s current and future capital needs. Proactively manage working capital needs to deliver best-in-class cash returns.

  • Manage enterprise risk (input pricing and hedging, credit volume, legal, and governmental) related to commodity inputs (e.g., commodity, foreign exchange, freight) with a proven ability to establish world-class financial controls and compliance.

  • Provide cost analysis and product line/market segment profitability to allow meaningful decision-making.

  • Assist in the development of strategic alternatives, including the establishment of long-term goals and objectives, and evaluation of opportunities. Help in the execution of acquisitions, divestitures or integration.

  • Serve as the primary interface with the Audit Committee with the ability to forge solid relationships with the entire board.

  • Manage the relationship with external auditors to ensure best service is provided to the company with audit fees minimized.

  • Serve as an authorized spokesperson for investment relations matters.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven track record of successfully working with a CEO and as a business partner with a top management team.

  • He/she must be capable of dealing with multiple, complex strategies related to treasury operations, cost accounting and determining profitability by accounts and markets.

  • A proven track record of successfully managing a diverse portfolio of complex businesses, with a challenging matrix of business lines, geographies, and cultures.

  • Demonstrated success building, leading and managing a finance organization with an emphasis on people development.

  • Experience in M&A, including the vision to identify and create new initiatives to drive additional value and growth.

  • Minimum of 20 years of finance function and/or operating experience of increasing scope and responsibility. Experience in the industrial manufacturing and services sector is preferred.
