Become a Pump Test & Hydraulic Services Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will lead a team of Pump Testers charted to provide SCE’s technically based pump related services to Agriculture, Water, and Wastewater related customer operations. The Manager will need to be proficient in the skills, tools, and requirements of pump testing/hydraulic related services and demonstrate the ability and desire to lead and cultivate the pump test staff to meet performance requirements.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Develop and lead an organization of 5 -12 pump testers and ensuring all technical aspects of the position are safely performed.

  • Ensure all employee and pump test sector technical and safety related job attributes and credentials are kept current, and position is accountable for ensuring new and emerging requirements are identified and implemented in a timely manner.

  • Manage talent by selecting and developing employees to fill talent and technical gaps and motivating employees to achieve short-term business goals and long-term strategic initiatives, including all aspects of employee performance, coaching, and development.

  • Develop and deliver continuous improvement initiatives and leverage feedback and opportunities to support the Business Customer Division (BCD) Water Sector Account Managers, emerging technology initiatives, and other activities as needed.

  • Responsible for Pump Test Team related Capital budget needs including Vehicles (in alignment with SCE Transportation Services Division), Pump Testing equipment and related tools.

  • Responsible for ensuring pump test related General Rate Case data, testimony, and assumptions are thoroughly reviewed, validated, quality controlled, and completed accurately and timely.


The essentials

  • Five or more years of experience managing, supervising, or leading an organization, group, or teams.

  • Three or more years’ experience with Water, Agriculture, Large Commercial, Industrial, Government, and/or InstitutionalCustomers in a technical, program, or customer management related role.

  • Hands-on experience working with energized electrical equipment from low voltage to 480-volt systems.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher Business, Engineering, Liberal Arts or related field.

  • Five or more years’ experience performing pump tests.

  • Customer service mentality, personal initiative, and problem-solving expertise

  • Have practical and hands-on technical experience and expertise related to small- and large-scale municipal, agriculture, wastewater, and/or commercial & industrial pumping systems and related energy saving measures.

  • A willingness to directly engage with problem solving, a solid track-record of good decision making, and proactive communication skills with individuals at all organizational levels.

  • Experience with Water and Agriculture sector, such as but not limited to the California Farm Bureau, the Association of California Water Agencies, Agricultural Energy Consumer Association and/or similar or related water and agricultural associations.

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. Offices include Rialto, Ventura, Irwindale, Westminster or Tulare, CA.
