Job Description - Student Intern, IT Operations and Enterprise Security

Tucson Electric Power, one of Arizona’s leading utility companies, seeks an individual for the position of Student Intern, IT Operations and Enterprise Security . This position will supplement the permanent staff and offer work experience in a business setting.

Position-Related Responsibilities

  • Assist IT Operations and Enterprise Security management team on various aspects of the budgeting preparation process.

  • Perform tracking and analysis of capital and operating expenses.

  • Analyze various sets of data and compile schedules and analysis as part of the budget process.

  • Review financial results and perform monthly variance analysis of actual results to budget.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports and participate in monthly financial meetings as needed.

  • Assist management team on various ad-hoc reporting needs.

  • Assist with other duties or assignments as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must be actively enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree inFinance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field with a graduation date ofMay2025 or later.

  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to protect highly sensitive and confidential information

  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Must possess functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products

  • Must possess working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and applications

  • Must be able to work with various Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g. Oracle BI, Microsoft Power BI)

  • Must demonstrate ability to accurately analyze information and deal with ambiguity

  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment

Requirements

  • Must be able to work up to 20 hours per week during regular business hours; and up to 40 hours per week during summer and school breaks depending on the business needs .

  • Student Interns must maintain the required hours for full-time student status, good academic standing at their college or university, as defined by the college or university and the GPA required for graduation by their college or university.

  • Failure to maintain full-time status, good academic standing and/or the required GPA will result in Student Interns being deemed ineligible for participation in this program.

Pay Rate: $17.00 + Dependent on experience and qualifications.
