Job Description - Student Intern, Information Services Project Management

We are currently seeking a talented individual for the position of Student Intern, Information Services Project Management. The successful candidate will be responsible to provide day-to-day support for the standard project management methodologies and the supporting tools. This will include providing administrative support to the Project Controls Specialist, IT Project Managers, and assist Supervisors and Managers with resource management and project tracking. Responsibilities will also include performing project audits, creating reports and making updates in Clarity PPM (project management tool).
Position Description
Under the oversight from the IS PMO supervisor or IS PMO manager, project management staff and other IT supervisor and managers. The student intern will assist with coordinating project schedules, resources, project activities, equipment and information and ensure all project phases are documented appropriately. The student intern will assist Project managers by scheduling meeting, acting as a scribe when needed, provide coordination efforts for major-minor projects, create and distribute meeting agendas, meeting notes, and project reports. The goal of the student intern is to help offload administrative tasks from the Project Management or Project Lead, while providing a space for learning and applying newly developed project management skills. This allows the Project Manager or Project Lead to ensure projects are completed on value, on scope, on time, within budget and meet or exceeded customer expectations.
Position-Related Responsibilities
Under the oversight from the IS PMO supervisor and staff, the Student Intern will assist in Portfolio
Coordinate project schedules, project activity, resources, equipment, and information
Break projects down into doable actions and set timeframes
Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management
Monitor project progress and partner with the Project Manager to handle any issues that arise
Act as the point of contact for project status reporting and communicate project status to all participants
Partner with the Project Managers to eliminate blockers
Documents all project phases using standard project management templates
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance tests
Identify and define project requirement, scope and objectives
Coordinate testing efforts, track, and escalate issues
Analyze risks and opportunities and assist with developing mitigation plans
Work with the Project Team to ensure customer needs are met
Monitor budget compared to actuals; provide variance explanation
Prepare project reports as needed (Financials, RAID Log, Status Report, Steering Committee, etc.)
Manage minor projects, lead smalls team to implement enhancement to existing processes and systems or to implement new processes or systems
Deliver projects and assignments on value, on scope, on time, within budget and with quality results that meet or exceed the customer expectations
Qualifications
Must be actively enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration/Management, or equivalent with a graduation date of May 2024 or later.

Must possess high level of interpersonal skills
Advanced MS Office skills
Requirements
Ability to work 15-20 hours a week during regular business hours.
Maintain required hours for full-time student status, good academic standing at their college or university.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain it.
Travel to and from Downtown Headquarters and Irvington campus as needed.
