Title: Sr. Software Developer

Location: GSOC Headquarters: Tucker, GA
Under minimal supervision, this position’s primary responsibilities are the analysis, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of systems for which Data Systems is responsible. These systems include web applications, database applications, and client-server applications. These applications support the business requirements for the Control Area Compact Agreement and OPC Billing. The web application, GSOC Data Portal, provides information to the EMC and the Scheduling Member Agents.
Working with the users, maintains the applications and processes which are supported by Data Systems. Platforms which are currently supported include Visual Basic for Applications, C#, PowerShell, XML, JSON, SQL Server Services and any in which new development is performed.
Prepares user requirements, functional specifications, system and user documentation expected under a Software Development Lifecycle Process. Train customers in the use, execution, and operation of the applications.
Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Technology or related field.
Equivalent Experience: If some college, then the number of college years completed plus at least five (5) years of direct experience with increasing responsibility in analysis, design and implementation of applications must total at least 8 years. Two of those years involve the development of web applications. If no college years to be credited, then eight (8) years of direct experience with increasing responsibility in analysis, design and implementation of complex applications with at least 2 years concentrated in the development of web applications using the .Net architecture.
Specialized Skills : Experience in software design techniques, methodologies and tools, and a broad knowledge of system and data technology alternatives. Excellent communication and team player skills, analytical ability, strong judgment and data management skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients and other data processing managers. Good problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
