E-III or E-IV Regional Planning Engineer
E-III or E-IV: Provides technical support in the transmission planning activities of the Corporation by performing transmission planning studies, generation interconnection studies, and in making recommendations for the best overall system improvements. Develops transmission projects that support internal and external approval for the release of capital transmission construction projects. Provides competent technical analysis to support recommendations to the Corporation’s Senior Management. This will include the ability to independently perform transmission analysis and project justifications. The scope of project evaluations includes the analysis to support the most economical and/or reliable capital transmission expansion plan for the Corporation.
Education: B.S. Electrical Engineering
Experience: (E-III) Three years, (E-IV) Six years (four years with P.E. License) in Power Systems with at least (E-III) two years, (E-IV) three years in Transmission Planning.
Equivalent Experience: (E-III) Eleven years, (E-IV) Fourteen years in Power Systems with at least (E-III) three years, (E-IV) five years in Transmission Planning.
Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.): Excellent computer skills (computer programming skills is a plus); proficient with power flow short circuit, stability analysis; competent financial & economic analysis capability; good interpersonal & analytical skills; and effective oral and written skills, (E-IV) presentation and negotiation skills.
Must be able to pass a NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening.
