Job Function Summary

Application Development Provides application software development services. Develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications. Codes, tests, debugs, and documents software applications. Analyzes requirements and tests and integrates application components. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented.

Key Technical Skills: Groovy, Core Java Knowledge. Basic Java constructs like loops and data types, Collection framework, Multithreading, Exception handling, Generics, Synchronization, Annotations. ORM frameworks like Hibernate. Knowledge of unit test frameworks like JUnit. Basic knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL and able to write simple SQL queries. Basic knowledge of front-end tool such as JSP, HTML, XML/XSL, JavaScript.

Professional Attributes: Excellent communication and customer interaction skills. Strong analytical capabilities to solve complicated issues arising during design and testing phases.

Expands on high-level knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. Solves a range of more complex problems. Analyzes possible solutions using advanced knowledge and applying protocols. Operates independently and receives only a moderate level of guidance and direction.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Care and Billing CC&B, Technical Design Documentation TDD. Participate in various phases of the project; Design, Build, Test and Deploy. Ability to understand and develop simple to complex solution with on-premises application. Quickly resolve defects and provide root cause analysis, implementation support. Work with vendor support team to resolve issues. Work with different stakeholders like business, project manager, Architects, Testers.

  • Programming/Software Development (PROG) Designs, codes, tests, corrects and documents moderately complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications and subsequent iterations using agreed standards and tools. Collaborates with others in reviews of specifications as appropriate.

  • Application Support (ASUP) Identifies and resolves issues with applications, following agreed procedures. Uses application management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics. Carries out agreed applications maintenance tasks.

  • Incident Management (USUP) Following agreed procedures, identifies, registers, and categorizes incidents. Gathers information to enable incident resolution and promptly allocates incidents as appropriate. Maintains records and advises relevant persons of actions taken.

  • Problem Management (PBMG) Investigates problems in systems, processes, and services. Assists with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures.

  • Systems Design (DESN) Specifies user/system interfaces and translates logical designs into physical designs, taking account of target environment, performance security requirements and existing systems. Produces detailed designs and documents all work using required standards, methods, and tools, including prototyping tools where appropriate.

  • Systems Integration (SINT) Defines the integration build and produces a build definition for generation of the software. Accepts software modules from software developers and produces software builds for loading onto the target hardware from software source code. Configures the hardware environment, produces integration test specifications, conducts tests and records the details of any failures. Carries out and reports fault diagnosis relating to moderately complex problems.


  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, management or other related field or equivalent experience.

  • Typically, two or more years in related field.

  • Good knowledge of Oracle utilities application framework tools like Scripts, UI Maps, Business objects, Change handlers, Batch programming, Groovy scripting etc.

  • Basic understanding of Core Java, PL/SQL, HTML, XML, JavaScript.

  • Experience of at least 1 – 2 full project lifecycle implementations.

Compensation Range:

$81,450.00 - $135,750.00
