Key Responsibilities:

Materials Inventory Management Provides authoritative advice and guidance on materials management and inventory processes to clients and colleagues. Leads a team and/or oversees the analysis of inventory demands and history, forecasting of needs/preorders, and development and implementation of very complex procurement plans and strategies to support PGE’s business. Ideal candidate will identify and ensures implementation of new practices and initiatives for materials management.

Program Policy and Procedures:

Serves as an authority on inventory management; oversees the development and standardization of all policies, practices and procedures for PGE’s inventory management. Research and Analysis Researches and analyzes significant issues related to materials management; provides authoritative advice on issue resolution. Internal Collaboration – Inventory Strategies Leads collaboration with other departments to evaluate and improve material management functions and to ensure that storerooms have high quality executable material stock requests (MSRs); oversees the analysis of inventory data to ensure storerooms have adequate inventory levels and to set replenishment parameters; identifies, recommends, and takes the lead on implementing inventory strategies in collaboration with the purchasing category manager. Manufacturing Preorders Leads negotiations for capacity with manufacturers to reserve product amounts based on the most complex projects planned for the coming year.

Education/Experience/Certifications Education Requires a bachelor’s degree in materials management, business, finance or other related field or equivalent experience. Experience Typically eight or more years in supply chain, logistics, inventory management, materials requirements planning or related field. Certifications, Licenses and Training Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of FERC and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements related to inventory practices

  • Advanced knowledge of electric utility industry material management operations

  • Advanced computer skills using Microsoft (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), SQL, enterprise resource planning and asset management software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Maximo)
