A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Ensuring that all aspects directly related to the construction and maintenance activities are optimized including: material management, resource utilization and crew productivity, while continually ensuring that safe work practices are followed.

  • Communicating corporate policies, goals and objectives to crew members and ensuring their compliance.

  • Completing work orders as designed per the DDS, Overhead & Underground Construction Standards manuals.

  • Following proper accounting procedures for all materials needed for projects and ensuring that it is correctly accounted for through the work order.

  • Ensuring appropriate training, administering recognition and direction while demonstrating SCE’s core values.

  • Responsible for meeting safety, financial, customer satisfaction, reliability, and environmental goals.

  • Collaborating with the team, peers, all levels of management, multi SCE departments and external customers regarding daily work activities as well as short- and long-term projects; and other duties as directed.

  • Creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.

Qualifications

The essentials

  • Two or more years of experience as a Journeyman Lineman.

  • Two or more years in an electric utility performing or supervising in planning, design, construction, maintenance, standards & development, system operations, field operations, engineering, or construction project management

  • Supervisory and/or team leadership experience.

  • Possess and be able to maintain a valid Driver’s License.

The preferred

  • Associate Degree.

  • Five or more years of combined experience performing and/or supervising activities related to the design, construction and maintenance, and/or scheduling activities associated with the electric distribution system.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams or bargaining unit personnel including, applying the IBEW collective bargaining agreement.

  • Experience leading all aspects of or executing medium to large construction projects with underground and overhead construction, maintenance and operation of the electrical distribution system and associated regulatory requirement, including environmental regulations, safety policies and procedures, and hazardous waste management.

  • Experience reviewing, prioritizing, and leading the execution of work to ensure on schedule completion.

  • Experience in construction/maintenance work methods, techniques, tools and equipment and switching procedures/ programs.

  • Experience with GO 95, 128, 165 and Accident Prevention Manual safety rules.

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • This position’s work mode is on-site . The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • This position could be called upon to act as Duty Supervisor, Field Supervisor, storm, and/or other support activities after regular work hours.

  • Position will require up to 65% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

  • Relocation does not apply to this position.
