Nuclear Fuel Services Operations Coordinator (1-year Contract) in Toronto, Ontario

BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. is looking for an Operations Coordinator (1-year Contract) for its Toronto location ( Lansdowne and Dupont area; free on-site parking provided).
At BWXT NEC we are committed to Quality, Environmental Health and Safety and Operational excellence. At our Toronto facility, we are a manufacturing organization that desires to be at the top of our industry. We manufacture the ceramic pellet components of a nuclear fuel bundle.
Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the collaborative team member will be tasked with identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing solutions within the areas of Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance and Environmental Health & Safety. The incumbent will be expected to bring fresh ideas, energy, integrity and diligence to the role.
Update Sample Lot Database with final inspection data and powder COA (Certificate of Analysis) data for sample lots.
Review and stamp on COA and Powder Drum Verification.
Collect sample drum evaluation forms, COA and packing list, and powder Drum verification for manager review and approval.
Update Microsoft Excel with specific data from the sample lot evaluation for furnace temperature projection.
Environmental Health & Safety
Support radiological and environmental sampling/analysis and other activities as required by CNSC license and radiation protection programs (i.e. dosimetry, air sampling, water, surface contamination). Utilization, maintenance and calibration of associated equipment.
Escorting contractors in facility and management of contractor activities when required.
Administer and/or complete various inspection programs and tracking systems at the facility (i.e. COVID inspections, spill kits, Gensuite task management).
Participate in projects for process improvements and development.
Procurement of items to support projects and process improvements.
Update standard operating instructions for Process Engineers and develop temporary manufacturing instructions.
Produce engineering drawings for parts to support Process Engineers.
Process owner support for the Fire Protection Program.
College diploma in a Business program. A technical diploma or certificate would be an asset.
In-depth knowledge of business office processes and practices acquired through a minimum of 1 year experience in an administrative support role.
Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Comfortable learning new computer systems/databases.
Experience in record/data management with great attention to detail.
Ability to adhere to strict guidelines, procedures and methods of operation.
