Summary
The Scheduler is an entry level position that works under the guidance of Senior Schedulers and supervisors to develop and issue outage and on-line schedules for plant work activities. Works with others inside and outside of the department to identify work scope details for schedule inputs and to review upcoming scheduled work and associated resource needs. Schedules station preventive maintenance work orders and surveillance tests per program requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Scheduler:
High school diploma/GED plus four (4) years power plant experience, of which three (3) years must be journeyman level or equivalent experience in maintenance, scheduling, planning, operations work control or engineering projects. Knowledge of plant systems and their operating interfaces and interactions.
Scheduler Sr:
High school diploma/GED plus six (6) years power plant experience of which four (4) years must be journeyman level or equivalent experience in maintenance, scheduling, planning, operations work control or engineering projects. Demonstrate proficiency of the Sr Scheduler major accountabilities. Detailed knowledge of plant systems and their operating interfaces and interactions. Experience with computer programs used for scheduling, prioritizing and tracking plant work activities. Excellent communications skills, ability to work across organizational boundaries and willingness/ability to lead.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
Experience with computer programs used for scheduling, prioritizing and tracking plant work activities.
Experience using Project View and/or Primavera (P6, P3) scheduling.
Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities. These are a condition of employment at PVNGS.
Major Accountabilities
1) Develops knowledge and performance proficiency in the core Work management functions contained in the current Work management Job Familiarization Guide.
2) Assists Outage Senior Schedulers in the planning and scheduling of outages. Develops demonstrated functional knowledge of: a logic driven schedule, critical path analysis, histogram resource loaded project per 51DP-9OM09 Outage Planning and Implementation.
3) Assists Online Senior Schedules in the planning and scheduling of online cycle weeks. Develops demonstrated functional knowledge of: priority scheduling, weekly total resource loading, metric tracked milestones per 51DP-9OM03 Site Scheduling.
4) Assists Senior Surveillance Program Control Group (SPCG) Schedulers in the planning and schedule of preventative maintenance/surveillance tests (PM/ST) for Online cycle weeks and outage schedules. Develops demonstrated functional knowledge of: track/approve routine tasks (RT), maintaining Functional Equipment Group (FEG) windows and monitoring violation dates per 51DP-9OM03 Site Scheduling and 73DP-9ZZ14 Surveillance Testing.

Flex Role:
This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work. Employees will have two options to choose from:
APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.
Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.
*Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.
