Summary

The Manager Information Technology - Project Management Organization (PMO ) will be responsible for directing execution of the technology portfolio for site wide initiatives and ensuring adherence to the PMO processes. Provide guidance and oversight to project managers and business analysts to make sure key deliverables, budgets, resources, risks and issues are managed effectively and efficiently across the portfolio.

2) Advanced knowledge of asset life cycle management processes and supporting tools and services

3) Advanced knowledge of software development and project management methodologies

4) Ability to manage multiple project tasks and timelines to successful completion

5) Experience overseeing multi-million dollar budgets and advanced knowledge of Palo Verde enterprise financial practices

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Business or related degree or equivalent work experience.

  • An additional eight to ten (8-10) years progressively responsible related experience in area/s of assignment is required to obtain an advanced understanding of information and/or communication systems, operating systems, network communications, equipment and infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills required. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated high quality oral, written and presentation communication skills, high quality interpersonal and people management skills, and demonstrated experience in project management.

  • Extensive experience in the development, integration, and support of information and communication systems applications, distributed and mainframe environments, network architecture and sub-systems, distributed and mainframe server architectures cross platform interfaces.

  • Extensive experience in information systems methodologies, systems guidelines & architectures, and technologies.

  • Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. This is a condition of employment at PVNGS. Roles and Responsibilities defined in Policy 1503 and implementing policy guide are applicable to all PVNGS employees.

Major Accountabilities

  1. Directs delivery of a workstream within a large program to support program objectives, technology implementation, process redesign to support user experience, and simplification of tools in the program.

    1. Ensures business requirements are balanced to provide effective results. Manages testing cycles to ensure a quality deliverable.

    2. Resolves technical issues and recommends and implements viable alternatives and solutions.

    3. Ensures departmental costs remain within approved budget. Continually improves work processes. Assigns, directs, facilitates, reviews and approves workstream work activities.

    4. Partners with other managers across the program to ensure alignment and team objectives are in support of the overall program.

    5. Identifies and communicates key issues impacting schedule, scope and budget adherence to the Director and Executive leadership over the program.

    6. Develops and retains a highly skilled business subject matter expert (SME) team and ensures the effectiveness and productivity of the team to achieve the established goals of the program.

    7. Ensures appropriate staffing levels and that staff has technical and business skills to support objectives of the organization.

    8. Contributes to the development of a cooperative culture that supports team accomplishments. Communicates issues openly and honestly with staff, peers, management, and customers in a timely manner.

Flex Role:

This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work. Employees will have two options to choose from:

  • APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.

  • Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.

*Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.
