Job Summary/Purpose

The VP of Meter to Cash leads a team accountable for providing proactive revenue management services to our operating companies by processing and validating meter data, generating bills, managing customer payments,

and ultimately ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition. This role will be engaging and driving accountability to executive leaders across the enterprise on the end-to-end processes that play a role in achieving these objectives and doing so with efficiency. This role is tasked with the data integrity ownership of our customer billing system and our meter management system. This role must establish and maintain a strong lean operating system model that will drive sustainable performance improvements. This role is required to support a positive regulatory environment through improving customer perceptions, providing ongoing performance transparency, and maintaining the enterprise POV on best practices. As this role will be driving a transformation in performance, they will also be building a team to transformation employee engagement through effective leadership, communication, and alignment across the organization to the strategy.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develop the vision and strategy to deliver top performance across processing and validating meter data, generating bills, managing customer payments, and ultimately ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition

  • Install key controls across the processes to reduce financial and regulatory risks

  • Embrace LEAN operating system

  • Deliver performance transparency

  • Drive data driven problem solving

  • Conduct Operating review cadence

  • Install Standardized processes

  • Advocate for cross functional key metrics and accountability across the end-to-end process to deliver sustainable results

  • Optimize receivable balance through creative collection practices that balance financials and customer satisfaction

  • Protect our customers and their data from fraudulent behaviors

  • Ensure the data integrity of our Customer Billing System and our Meter Management system

  • Deliver accurate bills monthly to all customers

  • Ensure meters are functioning properly and delivering accurate reads to customers

  • Design and deliver based on customer expectations (i.e, accurately deploy new rate designs,etc)

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience required, graduate degree a plus

  • Ability to develop vision and strategy across a fragmented process

  • Ability to influence accountability cross-functionally

  • Strong business finance acumen with a deep understanding of the Utilities industry, processes and systems

  • Ability to learn, understand and converse around key business issues

  • Respected and trusted leader with a proven track record of achievement through change

  • Strong passion for both speed and simplicity

  • Ability to analyze and assess organizational needs and provide solutions accordingly

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail-oriented and operationally focused

Minimum experience required of the position

The successful candidate will be an established, high-energy leader with a proven track record of providing sustainable solutions that drive breakthrough, strategic operational capabilities. Targeted candidates will have deep experience building / leading a customer focused meter to cash platform in a large company, and there is a strong preference for candidates who have direct experience within Utilities. S/he must be a collaborative change agent with a strong customer focus and a relentless drive to add value to the businesses served.

  • Deep experience in Finance and Accounting (, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to set vision and strategy, drive performance and consistently produce tangible results

  • Customer-focused leader with experience implementing large-scale process changes

  • Ability to develop innovative solutions to complicated process issues in a fast-paced and demanding environment – all while building strong partnerships with stakeholders

  • Experienced working in a complex, heavily matrixed organization

  • Brings a focused cost management mind-set; proactively identifies opportunities to reduce costs and executes plans in a timely, efficient fashion

  • Sound judgement and ability to influence at all levels

  • Drive for results to exceed expectations and make a positive impact for our customers, employees, communities and owners
