JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Entergy's Artificial Intelligence team is searching for a highly skilled, passionate, thoughtful designer to join our team to help design AI products that have real business impact to the company, enabling Entergy to become the premier utility. The Product Designer role is a fantastic opportunity for you to design digital AI solutions by leveraging human-centered design principles. Weave iconography, typography, color, space and texture together in helping our customers use our products. Our team values, not only innovators, and system thinkers, but also team members that can communicate and influence our organization’s design maturity, while delivering better products and services to our customers.

You will rely on human-centric design principles to produce high-quality end-to-end designs across many platforms and customer bases. You will collaborate with fellow product team members including product managers, data engineers, data scientists, and product owners to define and refine our design language, while creating innovative products and services to our customers’ delight.

We are building a team that seeks to understand our customers by learning everything we can about their behaviors, attitudes and emotions to help define the products and experiences we create.

The product designer will not only design the user experience and interfaces of AI products within the AI department’s portfolio, but also build a design playbook to be adopted/ applied by AI product teams. User experience is at the foundation of how we create inclusive, innovative, and thoughtful products that our customers will love. Serve as an experienced member of our analytics team, focusing on UX research, interaction, and visual design. You must understand the role of UX, visual design, prototyping, branding, communication, and team facilitation to create and execute a design strategy. You can clearly articulate the differences between information architecture, interaction design, usability, and user research. A clear design process is something you’ve crafted and relied on as a playbook to address the unique challenges and opportunities of every type of project.

• Strong understanding of material design library and best principles

• Creating industry leading UI for mobile fist web applications

• Staying on the top on all the latest design best practices and trends

Product Thinking

• Design experiences for successful product outcomes

• Engage and collaborate on product strategy

• Design an end-to-end solutions

Communication

• Clarify your design process and when it fits within your team’s roadmap and goals

• Communicate design decisions and strategies

• Consistent communication with team members and stakeholders on the progress of design and product

• Communicate design’s role and value for Entergy’s customers and stakeholders

Facilitation

• Facilitate design, brand, and product strategy sprint workshops

• Influence and collaborate with team members on executing successful outcomes

• Coordinate users inclusion through various methods e.g. rapid feedback, listening sessions, and usability testing

• Be able to deliver in a rapid, agile manner

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree a plus

Minimum experience required of the position

Product Designer: 5+ years’ experience with a proven record in Experience Design

Product Designer, Sr: 7+ years’ experience with a proven record in Experience Design

A background with product prototyping and testing, future visioning and strategy development required

Exposure/ experience designing analytics assets - advanced models and reporting visualization tools (Qlik, Power BI and Tableau)

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Proficiency in industry design and prototyping tools (Sketch, Figma, XD, and Webflow)
