JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE *: *
This role is part of a team that performs market and customer research, economic modeling and analysis on subjects that have key implications for ETR’s long-term growth. Examples of such subjects include trends in the utility industry at-large, trends in Entergy’s electric utility load, the makeup of Entergy’s customers, and the commercial environments impacting customers. The team also provides project support for ETR’s business development efforts.
This role is expected to primarily focus relevant macroeconomic trends and market fundamentals in key commercial and industrial sectors
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist in building and maintaining economic models and data structures to support market analysis; Develop data analyses and modeling frameworks
Build and maintain sector specific market sizing and forecasting models using a combination of publicly available data sources and 3rd party data services. Develop understanding of supply and demand fundamental market drivers in various industrial and commercial sectors.
Identify and incorporate new key data points into models on a timely basis.
Meticulously ensure the integrity of data sources and model outputs, and perform regular quality assurance checks to support the highest quality analysis.
Perform segmental analysis on existing Entergy customers and growth pipeline, and integrate to overall market intelligence framework
Deliver timely and accurate market analysis and insights (market, competition & customer intelligence)
Develop and maintain deliverables necessary for sharing findings and insights from the above (e.g. short-, medium-, and long-term market analysis). Identify new content needs and build new data and analysis offerings. Conduct ad hoc research in utility load segments and supply mix
Automate routine processes and proactively seek out ways to improve workflow efficiency
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
*Minimum Education and Experience is required of the position: *
Analyst II-III : Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Data Sciences, Engineering or other analytical fields is required. Master’s degree in related analytical fields or MBA is preferred.
Senior Analyst : Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Data Sciences, Engineering or other analytical fields and 3-5 years of experience in related analysis is required. Master’s degree in related analytical fields or MBA is strongly preferred.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
Solid proficiency in advanced Excel modeling
Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
Power BI, Python, R or other database management skills will be beneficial
Strong organization skills and attention to details
Ability to communicate complex matters in a clear and logical manner
Understanding of energy markets
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organization
Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
