Summary
The successful candidate will assist the Facilities Operation & Maintenance team with a variety of assignments. This position provides the opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of maintenance and operation of facilities. Additional duties include assisting a Planner/Scheduler, interacting with customers through the call center, assisting with office administrative duties and coordinating facility maintenance activities. The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department’s needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 29.5 hours per week maximum.
What You'll Do
Assists with maintaining and verifying that project activities are performed to owner's standards and specifications.
Communicates directly from the call center with customers and documenting customer requests.
Conveys information to Planner/Schedulers
Creates work orders through Maximo
Supports office administrator on projects as needed
What It Takes To Succeed
Competencies:
Experience and/or interest in developing skills in operations and maintenance related to
building systems and preventative maintenance
Willingness to learn and be taught by an experienced professional
Exceptional customer service and people skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to work in a team environment involving multiple internal departments and external
resources to bring all parties together to generate decisions for project success
Exceptional working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Additional Information Continued:
It is preferred that the candidate be seeking a degree in project management, construction management, business, architecture, mechanical or electrical engineering.
This is a paid opportunity for a student working a minimum of 15 hours per week. However, work hours and schedules may fluctuate based on departmental needs.
Applicant must be enrolled and attending a minimum of six (6) college credits per semester (100 or higher level courses).
Pay rate is $19.10 per hour for an undergraduate intern and $21.15 per hour for a graduate intern.
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although part-time teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
Education
College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.
