ADVANCEMENT IN PROGRESSION

Advancement is not automatic, i.e. based solely on time in the job, but will be based on direct observation of the employee’s performance, accomplishments, qualifications, and the business and/or technical needs of the department.
This position is responsible for the implementation of policies, procedures, standards and governance needed to create and maintain material and vendor master data throughout the enterprise to ensure consistency and standardization in transaction processing and reporting across the ERP landscape. Also provides support for all activities related to company-wide storeroom inventory including the implementation of inventory strategies and programs to ensure material availability to the Business Units.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures proper governance of the material and vendor master data through review and analysis of requested data prior to entry and cataloging into the system.
Gatekeeper of master data standards - upholds master data standards by validating/normalizing/cleansing data to ensure adherence to business rules, naming conventions, abbreviations, etc.
Validate and cleanse the master data for vendors and materials in SAP in support of executing change requests.
Establishes and maintains Emera U.S. vendors by verifying Federal Tax Identification Information or Corporate data through an Internal Revenue Service Tax Identification matching portal. Also establishes and maintains any Non-U.S. (Foreign) vendors through verification.
Assists with the review of Certificates of Insurance to ensure Vendor Compliance pertaining to proper insurance coverage, and maintaining proper safety, health and environment regulations.
Implement inventory control strategies to include Business Unit requirements, type of replenishment and safety stock to minimize stock-outs and maintain the most economical inventory level consistent with corporate goals.
Administer programs associated with Inventory Accuracy, to include establishment of goals and objectives, as well as, monthly and yearly reporting. Resolves discrepancies, claims, and disputes over material, deliveries, receipts, and invoices. Provides warranty enforcement as required.
Assists in projects and performs other duties and responsibilities as directed by Manager.
LEVEL 1 – DATA ANALYST I
The Data Analyst I requires regular supervision, approaching the role with a basic functional knowledge and skill to perform duties following established procedures and guidelines. Receives guidance from higher level Analysts and Manager, expands that knowledge to be able to apply simple analytical skills to assignments of low complexity. This role receives training and mentoring from Data Analysts and outside educators.
Required: Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
Required: Minimum of 1-year work experience related to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position. Related experience consists of Materials Management, Supply Chain or Logistics.
Preferred: Knowledge in an ERP environment.
Required: Must have basic understanding of business principles. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
LEVEL 2 – DATA ANALYST II
Data Analyst II completes the Data Analyst I primary duties independently and proficiently, and performs the additional responsibilities below with moderate to minimal supervision.. Performs assignments of moderate complexity and may provide training and mentoring to Data Analyst I.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implements the policy and procedures related to the governance of vendor and material master data to ensure compliance and consistency.
Ensures Master Data enables the production of accurate supply chain performance reports.
Functions as a liaison and master data knowledge resource by helping the business understand Material and Vendor related master data.
Analyzes stock material determining appropriate replenishment quantity, providing the highest possible stock material availability while minimizing inventory costs along with making adjustments to storeroom stock item parameters.
Participates in cross-functional teams to identify and recommend improvement solutions to issues relative to supply chain.
Recommends to material requestors, Standards and Material Quality Assurance Departments' new or alternate materials, changes in specifications, manufacturing schedules, delivery lead times, prices and other pertinent costs.
Assists with Vendor Anti-Corruption process to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
Required: Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
Preferred: CPM or CPSM certification by the Institute of Supply Management.
Required: Three years of work experience related to a materials and/or vendor discipline; procurement, inventory management, warehouse management, operations or logistics.
Preferred: Working knowledge of SAP. Specific knowledge of the technical and functional operations of generation, transmission and distribution within the electric utility industry as related to equipment, spare parts and materials.
Required: Must have demonstrated proficiency in all of the primary duties listed in the Level 1 Data Analyst I position. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and the ERP System (SAP). Demonstrated good understanding of Inventory Management principles and logistics, purchasing, storeroom, material quality assurance procedures and functions, FERC laws, regulations, utility accounting practices, and U.S. Tax Law.
