The City of Tacoma is recruiting for an attorney to work in the Prosecution Division of the City Attorney's Office. The individual in this position performs duties that include municipal court prosecution, and entry-level professional legal services. A Prosecuting City Attorney must be capable of independently managing a large caseload in a high-volume court.

The ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited law school and have demonstrated experience in criminal prosecution or other relevant legal experience. Membership in the Washington State Bar Association is required at time of appointment. Computer skills, prosecution trial work and a background in the legal aspects of domestic violence prosecution are desirable.

Direct Deposit: Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule by direct deposit.
Salary Increases: Based on satisfactory job performance, the City provides for a regular progression of salary increases for most classifications according to the salary schedule.
Union Affiliation: Many job classifications are covered by union security provisions which require union membership, dues, or payment of equivalent service fees.
