Job Purpose

To provide strategic support to Work Development and Management that results in innovative, effective, and collaborative decision making

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement new processes and procedures to improve the operational efficiency of WD&RM, remove obstacles, create plans and organize the team to change.

  • Analyze data to identify operational trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Coordinate with other departments withing the EBU to ensure the successful implementation of initiatives related to evolution savings.

  • Lead projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and reducing costs for customers.

  • Provide material support to the Work Development and Resource Management leadership team in the development and implementation of electric asset management investment portfolio, delivery of budget, portfolio and strategic objectives.

  • Utilize established financial systems to facilitate the annual budget planning process, track budgets and highlight variances in order to manage and control specific cost variables.

  • Working with the Finance Business Partner and Department Heads, coordinate the development of Work Development and Resource Management department annual budget.

  • Monitor and control allocated human resources, the organizational structure, and maintaining financial and progress forecasting in order to ensure compliance with budgets.

  • Work with the Work Development and Resource Management leadership team to set and translate objectives into well-defined requirements with clearly defined business cases to support and manage change and innovation within the department.

  • Produce and distribute the Capital Delivery Monthly Report from multiple sources.

  • Update and prepare on a quarterly basis, the HR Certificate of Assurance on behalf of the Work Development and Resource Management leadership team

  • Serve as Coordinator for the Business Continuity Plan ensuring timely and accurate completion by the BCP Planners in accordance with guidance from Emergency Planning.

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of the annual department Safety Plan across Work Development and Resource Management

  • Prepare and provide Work Development and Resource Management department statistics for the department Hub.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Engage stakeholders and have effective collaboration and partnership capabilities.

  • Excellent written/oral communication skills, follow-up, and negotiation skills.

  • Good project management skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in a field of Business or Engineering.

  • 10+ years’ experience with minimum of 3 years of experience in an Electric Utility

  • Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills including human resource management, negotiations and communications.

  • Communicates to the people affected by a decision on what’s happening and is able to clearly articulate reasons for a decision.

  • Ability to provide guidance and manage responsibilities/obligations at a senior management level.

  • Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities; organized, detail oriented, able to make independent decisions with a high degree of confidence.

  • Understanding of the operations of the electric business or the strong desire to learn.

  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret information and analyze relationships among several parts of a problem or situation in order to clearly articulate the findings and anticipates obstacles and thinks ahead about next steps.

  • Understands policies and processes and demonstrates the ability to challenge existing processes and ways of working (e.g. taking action to avoid future crisis or create opportunities to improve existing practices.

Salary

$128,000- $151,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
