Job Purpose
Drive the development of the future state and transformational digital targets of the NY Electric business around Planning the Network and Work Execution. Identify the capabilities, technologies, processes, and data required to achieve the transformation outcomes through digital solutions, in coordination with broader NY Electric team and other support functions (e.g. IT, Finance, Customer, etc). Integrate the NY electric transformation and digital initiatives into an aligned and prioritized roadmap. This role is the NY lead in the Plan and Work Execution space, collaborating with NE and IT counterparts.
Key Accountabilities
Develop, grow, and coach a high-performing team to drive the successful deployment of technology to meet NY Electric’s operational and transformational objectives.
Drive definition of 5-year digital roadmaps for the Plan and Work Execution product lines and define of short-term outcomes to meet business objectives.
Own the execution to deliver the Plan and Work Execution transformational strategies, with implementation plans to execute the product on schedule and on budget, while delivering the expected benefits.
Establish clear communication and alignment for stakeholder across NY Electric
Advising on user stories and ensuring alignment across the product line
Drive alignment between NY electric stakeholders
Achieve electric leadership approval for key functionality and go-forward decisions
Ensure all impacted user groups are informed and consulted with proactive communication, training, and change management as needed
Coordinate with change management teams
Ensure process change requirements are addressed
Establish communities of Practice for user support as needed
Works closely with the IT function to develop technology strategy & execution that underpin the ambition of the business
Establish and drive coordination on business insights from across the UK, MA, & NY Electric organizations – including internal and external benchmarking and future improvement opportunities
Proactively network with other utilities and industry partners to leverage best practices
Own development and realization of benefits for the Plan and Worke Execution products (such as Future Now, GridMD, OnMyWay, and others) as outlined in the NY Electric FY25 (and future year) Quarterly Outcomes, Performance Contract objectives, and agreed upon future metrics.
Clear communication across business and leadership to shape product roadmap and drive prioritization to achieve desired business outcomes
Ensure product testing is developed, staffed and completed to meet business needs
Translate between NY Electric, UX Design, Software Engineering, IT
Facilitate end-user access & product design research ensuring that unintentional blockers are avoided
Creating a clear picture of business benefits and ensuring that there is clarity on benefits being delivered (including benefit ownership by impacted teams), tracking them from project inception through to realization
Develop, gain approval and implement post go-live user support plan
Establish an organization which can deliver Tier 1 support for the NY Electric products including supporting new users with training, job aids, and general system administration.
Qualifications
A relevant degree, and significant experience as a business leader at a senior level managing a team managing change programs. This should include the integration of multiple business units and proven ability to create and drive a culture of high performance, continuous improvement and quality.
Experience delivering technology projects from an Operational perspective, preferably within the electric utility operations environment.
Track record of managing key stakeholders at senior levels in a large publicly listed organization during a change program to achieve tangible results and value. Demonstrates the ability to take action that inspires confidence in National Grid’s strategy and long-term business plans with both internal and external stakeholders.
Strong Leadership capabilities to lead, motivate and develop required departmental capabilities and future leaders
Excellent problem solving and strategic skills
Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams and deliver project results in a comprehensive and timely fashion
Ability to communicate and work with people at all levels and across organizational boundaries, including ability to comprehend and explain highly complex information to a less technical audience

Salary: $168,000 - $198,000
