About the Position:

National Grid’s Customer Contact Center is an entry level full-time represented position that offers qualified candidates an opportunity to join a challenging, fast paced environment. Due to the essential nature of the services we provide our customers National Grid’s Contact Center’s hours of operation are 24/7 and accepted applicants will be expected to work any shifts/hours including overtime as needed by the business to support our Customer Centric objectives.

Under general supervision, handle fundamental customer contacts, including, but not limited to, the following:

  1. Update customer account information

  2. Take customer payments

  3. Assist Customers with starting and stopping service

  4. Scheduling Field Orders in alignment with customer expectations

  5. Assist customers with billing issues both simple and complex

  6. Handle collections related concerns and assist customers with the various options available to maintain and/or reinstate their service.

  7. Handle both Electric and Gas Related Emergency Calls

Job Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED

  • Must be able to work Overtime both planned and unplanned.

  • Must be available to work any shifts including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Must live within 35 miles of the office or be willing to relocate within that range if an offer is extended

  • Satisfactory completion of validated skills testing, as determined by the Company.

  • Multi/bilingual Candidates including but not limited to conversational Spanish fluency preferred.

  • Ability to multitask between multiple system applications

  • Strong interpersonal phone and writing skills

Location: Syracuse

Pay Rate: $18.38/hr
