Pike Corporation Expeditor in Sumterville, Florida
Position Summary: The Expeditor is responsible for the process of expediting purchased materials, components, equipment and services ensuring the timely performance of suppliers to meet the needs of various engineering, substation, relay, transmission, or distribution projects.
Executes and coordinates material delivery processes to ensure the timely receipt of materials and/or services on project sites.
Work with vendors and suppliers to effectively plan and schedule the delivery of goods to support the project.
Verifies delivery and receipt of purchased items in accordance with PO’s and supports payment approval processes.
Analyze delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability.
Leads problem resolution for material related accounting and receiving issues.
Identifies delivery issues and escalates as necessary to management.
Provides input to management regarding action plans to address long term issues.
Provide input into supplier reliability evaluations.
Support the disposal of surplus materials as required.
Comply with purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and submit for use as approved suppliers/subcontractors within organization.
Effective planning, organizing, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.
Complete and maintain accurate procurement records and files.
Assembles and maintains all warranty, product manuals, operational instructions, etc. required for turnover to clients.
Understanding of basic concepts in procurement of materials and services
High energy level with the ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment
Demonstrated computer skills (i.e.; MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
High School diploma
Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree preferred
Experience in the utility industry
Direct experience in the procurement and delivery of materials and/or services

W ork Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
