Position Summary

Please Note: This position has openings in the following locations: Stewartsville, NJ

Our Account Managers are responsible for selling, promoting, and marketing natural gas services to residential and commercial prospects, builders, and developers to maximize meter growth and revenue for Elizabethtown Gas Company. Their duties will also include developing relationships with Contractors, Municipalities, Project Managers, and business partners to drive sales and growth in the Residential market by acquiring new customers. The Account Manager will increase market penetration in designated areas while promoting the benefits of our energy efficiency products, programs, and services.

Essential Functions:

  • Sell to prospective customers to promote the benefits of natural gas

  • Obtain customer requests for commercial and/or residential gas projects

  • Enter and maintain information into Salesforce

  • Attend sales, trade, and home association meetings

  • Host community events to promote gas conversions to new customers

  • Meet or exceeds territory and customer acquisition goals

  • Provide excellent customer service by keeping customers informed during onboarding

  • Performs other duties as assigned

    Physical Requirements:

  • Perform outdoor field work throughout the year

  • Maintain a safe working environment

  • Travel to meet with customers

  • Frequently meet with contractors at construction sites with exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, atmospheric conditions such as dust, dampness, humidity

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Ability to effectively sell, listen, and communicate with customers

  • Ability to provide benefits of natural gas appliances over competitive fuel appliances

  • Ability to compare carbon footprint and energy costs of buildings based upon energy used

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and work with minimal supervision.

  • Organizational and negotiation skills

  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation

Preferred Skills:

  • Intermediate proficiency in the use of a PC and multiple mainframe and software programs, including MS Office, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of city and state building and land regulations

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to read, interpret and apply basic engineering and architectural plans

    Required Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field

  • Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of degree

  • 3-5 years of experience in the natural gas industry, performing sales functions
