About The Position
The Project Manager manages high value projects for Callaway Refueling Outage Department following an approved project management methodology ensuring that change to scope, schedule, or budget are properly reviewed in a timely fashion and the risks associated with a successful project implementation are decreased.
Key responsibilities include:
Leads the project planning process including initiation, design, engineering, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and close out.
Manage project implementation including project schedule, project budget and the project resources including external vendors and contractors.
Serves as the primary site authority for assigned project personnel and the transmission operations staff on major project-related issues.
Direct project team and lead the project management process.
Responsible for metrics tracking, associated reporting to stakeholders, and compliance with regulatory, corporate and Transmission function procedures during all the phases of the project.
Assist, or take the lead, in development of, or revision to, function-specific project management policies, procedures, and implementation.
Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties in accordance with Callaway Energy Center Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP), including responding to assigned ERO facilities within the required RERP response time.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university OR current/previous RO/SRO licensure is required. RO/SRO license or Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management discipline preferred. Five years of relevant project management experience required (e.g. Large-scale project management, project lead engineering experience on large/complex projects or nuclear operations experience as a licensed RO/SRO). Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred (required within 12 months of employment in this position). Experience on utility projects preferred. Team leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools required. Proficiency with financial analysis tools in a utility setting required. May be required to work emergency callouts. Excellent leadership and organizational skills required. Ability to work effectively with competing priorities and stressful situations required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
