How can you benefit EnergyUnited? In this role you will:

  • Facilitate the entire recruiting function by assisting all departments with the preparation and posting of job openings.

  • Post positions on the company ATS, EnergyUnited’s web page, various job/college boards and other available mediums, along with utilizing other avenues of recruitment, to reach potential applicants/candidates for EnergyUnited’s staffing needs.

  • Consult with hiring managers and develop recruitment options for open positions.

  • Assist in the development of position specifications and position descriptions for all positions for use in recruiting, hiring, transferring and promoting of employees.

  • Interview, screen, and recruit job applicants to fill entry level, professional and technical job openings and present candidates to hiring managers.

  • Administer pre-employment background screening and reference checks and make determination on whether candidates meet hiring criteria for the role. Also coordinate pre-employment physicals and drug testing.

  • Prepare offer letters and send to applicant for review and signature.

  • Compile and send new hire orientation packet containing required documents to each new hire as part of the onboarding process for EMC.

  • Promote EnergyUnited’s recruitment brand through online social media efforts, community business events, and college recruiting efforts.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with outside staffing agencies or recruiting firms in order to provide the company with appropriate options and value of service if selected.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with colleges and universities and participates in various job fairs for talent recruitment.

  • Create and maintain confidential recruiting records for each position.

  • Track position postings by created date, offered date and filled dates.

  • Maintain company ATS system by opening and closing out positions, monitoring applications received, adding new company users and providing training for use of system, and answering questions for departments or applicants as necessary.

  • Utilize reporting functions in the ATS system as required for status updates of positions.

  • Update HR Dashboard and provide quarterly metrics to Manager of HR People Services as needed and requested.

  • Attend both in-person and virtual Career Fairs as a part of recruitment activity and maintain promotional item inventory for fairs and other employee events.

  • Assist with the preparation of the Affirmative Action report and ensures compliance and timely reporting.

  • Assist with the maintenance of the company performance management software and monitors review cycle for organization.

  • Track appraisal form in performance management system for New Hires during first 90 day and ongoing for remainder of review cycle.

  • Sets calendar reminders for new hires and their respective manager(s) to ensure completion of appraisals.

  • Organize and process approval forms and related documentation for employee training requests and maintains associated training-related records, files and reports.

  • Register employees for outside training for various seminars, workshops, etc. as needed.

  • Process and track tuition reimbursement paperwork.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements

To be Considered for the Position, you should have:

  • Associates degree with a concentration in Human Resources (or equivalent field) required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or relevant field highly preferred.

  • Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years in an HR function with a recruiting and generalist background in the application of job duties required.

  • Excellent working knowledge of human resources with an emphasis on recruiting principles, practices and procedures.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to make sound decisions from observations and carry out instructions.

  • Proficient in MS Office Applications.

  • Possess and maintain a valid NC driver’s license with safe driving record.

  • This position is classified as a Non-Direct Operational Position. All employees assigned to headquarters or non-direct operational positions must make their domicile within one of the nineteen counties served by the Cooperative or within a 40 (forty) road mile radius of any EnergyUnited EMC office.
