Temporary Relief Worker Senior Distribution Technician
This position provides PART-TIME support Distribution teams. Selected candidates will work PART-TIME up to a maximum of 1000 hours per calendar year.
DUTIES:
Under general supervision, and at times to train and direct the work of a trainee; to test calibrate and repair relays and RTUs associated with distribution equipment of 34,500 volts and less installed outside of substations, including reclosers, switches, sectionalizers, and solid-state capacitor controls, and motor operated switches installed at 69,000 volts and less installed outside of substations. Inspect, test, and operate Company and customer-owned electrical distribution equipment such as:
Test, calibrate and repair relays for current, voltage, temperature, directionalcurrent, power, VAR, differential current, voltage regulating and other relays atlocations outlined above.
Perform tests on system equipment and customer equipment outlined above todetermine the electrical and/or mechanical performance characteristics such as resistance, capacitance, and mechanical motion.
Make complete and comprehensive load checks as needed at locations outlined above.
Make tests and repair trouble on Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition(SCADA) associated with above devices.
Install and maintain equipment associated with Quantum Weather stations.
Maintain electronics on line voltage regulators.
Use of Extendo stick and Shotgun stick as necessary for testing of some devices.
Testing function of lockout handles, hot line tag handles, trip-close handles.
To prepare clear and concise reports on all work performed.
Wiring of AC or DC control power and circuitry as needed at locations outlinedabove.
To install or replace radio equipment installed along with above devices.
Perform switching from the ground of line, load, disconnect and bypass switchesassociated with maintenance of the above mentioned 4kv and 12kv devices
Install and remove fault circuit indicators (FCI's) from the ground.
Investigate power quality and RTVI complaints and diagnose trouble by testing voltage on customer's premise and on the Company distribution system.
Recommend corrective measures and perform follow up checks.
Perform a full range of inspections, maintenance checks, repairs, and procedures on network transformers and protectors.
Check settings on feeder and bus regulators and tap changing under loadtransformers for proper feeder voltage level and regulation.
Install test equipment on distribution feeders and adjust line drop compensatorson feeder regulator to establish proper feeder voltage level.
Check company service connections and make repairs or report findings tosupervisor for corrective action.
SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
For service continuity and quality to the extent that these factors depend on accurate adjustment and proper functioning of the relays or other control equipment at locations outlined above which is tested, adjusted or repaired. For equipment to the extent that its protection, when operating, depends on the proper functioning of relays and other control equipment which is tested, adjusted, or repaired. In emergencies for quickly and accurately correcting faulty operation of relays and control equipment and for clearing faulty apparatus.
For special care to prevent personal errors in the testing and calibrating of relays and other control devices and in reporting data.
For the safety of others to the extent that proper functioning of controls protects others by accurately and quickly isolating apparatus during fault conditions. Technicians are expected to obey all safety rules and regulations.
To drive a vehicle carrying tools and equipment. For special care to prevent damage to the vehicle and the test equipment to the extent that it's operation is critical for calibration of relays and control equipment. May be required to drive and/or operate a vehicle equipped with a basket. Some overnight and storm restoration work stays may be required.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Subject to outside weather conditions. Subject at times to hot and cold temperatures, dirt. vibration, and to working in high places.
HAZARDS
Subject to shock, flashes, burns, cuts while working on low voltage or near high voltage electrical equipment.
Subject to traffic hazards when driving a vehicle on streets or highways in all weather conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Three years' experience as Distribution System Technician or equivalent educational background or experience as determined by the Company
Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri "E" or Illinois "C" commercial driver's license

Hourly Pay:
Grade Step IA 215 Step 1 of 1 (Top Step) - 58.09 USD
