Ameren Sr. Cybersecurity Architect in St. Louis, Missouri

About The Position

● Performs assessments for enterprise projects, integrations and infrastructure requests or enhancements with respect to cybersecurity architecture design

● Develops, reviews, implements and maintains cybersecurity architecture and design requirements in support of formalized architecture reviews

Key responsibilities include:

● Provides technical leadership in shaping cybersecurity architectural strategy and oversight over the design and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies for cybersecurity

● Provides oversight to ensure company-wide cohesiveness in the establishment of security guidelines and quality controls for the implementation of existing and new system designs, as well as for major modifications, prior to implementation

● Determines and designs cybersecurity models based on deep research and analysis of security patterns and trends analysis

● Proactively identifies potential security risks through external environmental scans, develops technical controls to build safer production environments

● Demonstrates a deep understanding of the cybersecurity domain as well as Ameren’s business environment and priorities (e.g. digital transformation)

● Plans security systems by evaluating the entirety of Ameren’s technology portfolio (network, security technologies); and adhering to industry standards

● Develops and documents business requirements, reviews with senior level resources, prepares project roadmaps

● Develops, implements and communicates cybersecurity architecture requirements in support of formalized architecture reviews

● Presents architectural requirements to senior level stakeholders and domain architect counterparts

● Provides deep expertise and builds business case for senior leaders regarding appropriate, timely and necessary security improvements or enhancements

● Coaches less experienced co-workers and provides feedback to enhance skills and knowledge


● Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in engineering, mathematics, computer science, business or cybersecurity

● 7+ years of relevant or demonstrated experience in solution/system design/engineering required with 8+ years of experience related to Cybersecurity and Logical Access environments required

● Professional certification (e.g. Security+, Network+, OSCP, GIAC, CDH) preferred

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

● Strong working knowledge of all aspects of cybersecurity and the ability to apply this knowledge in an open network environment

● Strong working knowledge of applications development, cloud security and mobility security

● Strong working knowledge of network, data, platform and access controls security domains

● Working knowledge of industrial control systems architecture or operations preferred
