About The Position

The Technical Architect (IAM) is responsible for establishing current and long-range direction of enterprise application technologies aimed at keeping the organization on the forefront of change for our transformation to an agile product-focused culture. This position will focus on application architecture activities for our digital development teams that support enterprise strategies and objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan, develop, refine, optimize, and support the enterprise architecture as required to meet the business requirements of the organization. Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture blueprint for the organization, overseeing the use of best practices for modern application integration. Provide technical direction to team members and is a key contributor. Ability to solve highly technical complex problems and be called on to consult on projects. Viewed as a subject matter expert within the organization. Provides coaching and mentoring to junior level technical as well as functional staff.

  • Drive and influence the delivery of solutions across our entire Identity eco system with a specific focus on our existing business process and technical landscape

  • Work with Product Owner/Business Analysts to understand functional requirements and interact with other cross-functional teams to architect, design, develop, test, and release solutions.

  • Drive common vision, practices and capabilities across teams.

  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand required capabilities, integrating business knowledge with technical solutions

  • Engage with Technical Architects and technical staff to determine the most appropriate technical strategy and designs to meet business needs

  • Demonstrate broad solutions technical leadership, impacting significant technical direction, exerting influence outside of the immediate team and driving change

  • Stay abreast of current developments in cloud delivery technologies (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS), and cloud development technologies. Prepare studies and make recommendations regarding utilization of foundational application integration services for rapid delivery of new business capabilities. Dispense technical and security guidance, guidelines, standards, strategies and establish new procedures to improve process and reduce cost and complexity.

  • Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. Assess the compatibility and integration of products and services proposed in order to ensure a robust integrated architecture across the interdependent applications.

  • Performs system wide / cross functional team management on projects to evaluate, design and implement new technology systems. Establish effective project plans and timelines, set milestones and manage resources. Lead team members and provide work guidance to meet project objectives and assure timeliness, quality and cost effectiveness.

  • Provide IT technology expertise and consultation for specialized architectural needs specifically those that concern Identity and Access.

  • Serves as IT advisor on company-wide project teams as a SME for Identity and Access management.

  • Must have experience in identity provisioning and federation technologies and standards, such as: SAML, OpenID Connect, Oauth, XACML, CARTA, SCIM, and UMA.

  • Stay abreast of current developments in Identity and Access Management along with Customer Identity and Access Management, Privileged Access Management, and Cloud architectures.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university, preferably in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or business. Master's Degree preferred. Ten or more years of experience in IT with demonstrated experience in solution/system design/security/identity engineering required. Demonstrated experience in application systems analysis and design, and agile methodologies.

Preferred Skills

Preferred technical skills include experience with agile methodologies, ForgeRock, directory services, Jira/Confluence (or similar tools), cloud services with AWS, testing frameworks, GitHub, Jenkins, SOAP and REST web services, MuleSoft ESB, AnyPoint API management, identity and access management (IAM), role-based access control (RBAC), experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g. security, privacy, PCI, SOX, HIPAA, etc.), and experience with using a variety of open source technologies.
