About The Position
The Transmission Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, completion and operational integration of transmission line and substation projects into Ameren’s Transmission system.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the project lifecycle process including initiation, design, engineering, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and close out. Provides oversight to others working on the project.
Manage project implementation including project schedule, project budget and the project resources including external vendors and contractors.
Ensure the overall successful delivery of project scope, cost and schedule.
Direct project team and lead the project management process.
Identify and mitigate project risks, troubleshoot project issues, and remove obstacles for project team members.
Responsible for metrics tracking, associated reporting to stakeholders, and compliance with regulatory, corporate and Transmission function procedures during all project phases.
· Lead or assist the development and implementation of, or revision to, function-specific project management policies and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University required. Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, engineering management, or construction management discipline preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred or must actively pursue PMP certification upon hire and reaching minimum requirements. Three or more years of relevant project management experience required. Relevant experience includes managing projects and/or project engineering, construction management, or project controls experience on large and medium complex utility or construction projects. Experience or understanding in project management controls are preferred. Project coordination or team leadership experience preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools required. General understanding of utilities, specifically transmission systems, preferred. Proficiency with financial analysis tools required. Excellent leadership and organizational skills required. Must be highly driven with the ability to work effectively with competing priorities and under stressful situations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Standard day shift in office or field environment. Work outside of typical business hours may be required based upon individual project oversight needs. Occasional overnight travel within the Ameren service territory may be required. Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment.
