About the Position:

The Leadership and Organization Effectiveness (L&OE) Consultant will be responsible for the strategy, execution, and on-going management of key talent processes and programs including Succession Planning, External Nomination-Based Programs, and Sponsorship. This role will report to the Manager, Talent Processes and Enablement and work closely with other key stakeholders to ensure work is aligned with Ameren’s overall strategy and direction. Critical to success will be effective working relationships with Leadership and Organization Effectiveness team members, Talent Planning and Recruitment, Ameren Leadership, and HR Business Partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead Ameren's Succession Planning process with strong planning, design and execution of the process, including overall strategy enhancements, process and resource enhancements, and facilitation of key meetings.

  • Lead Ameren's Sponsorship Program, ensuring its continued growth and evolution beyond initial pilot.

  • Support Ameren's Internal Nomination-based Programs by providing consultation to Learning & Leadership Development team during selection process.

  • Lead External Nomination-based Programs participation through nominee identification process, supporting nominees through application process, and conducting continuous evaluation of effectiveness of program participation. External Nomination-based Programs are utilized by Ameren to supplement internal development programs in support of current and future leaders.

  • Support L&OE Assessment Lead with the overall management and execution of leadership assessments for both selection and development, including consultation with HRBPs and Leaders around proper time and use of assessments and associated data.

  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with key cross functional leaders, human resources, and project team members. Draw on knowledge and skill in consulting, organization development, leadership development, measurement and evaluation to design, implement and evaluate impact of Organization Development (OD) interventions.

  • Create and manage work plans, communication, and sustainability processes to support organization effectiveness initiatives. Champion and model thinking and behavior changes aligned with Ameren development philosophies. Stay current on research and practices in organization and leadership development. Deepen expertise within the team and transfer practices to clients and HR partners.

  • Function as a key support/back up for various Talent Process and Enablement team members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology (I/O Psychology), Organization Development, Leadership Development or a related discipline required.

  • 5+ years of relevant professional level experience (e.g., leadership development, strategic program design and management, talent process execution, and/or high impact organizational effectiveness consulting experience) required.

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in OD, HR Development, or I/O Psych and 7+ years of relevant (e.g., leadership development, strategic program design and management, talent process execution, and/or high impact organizational effectiveness consulting experience) will be considered in lieu of a Master's degree.

Additional Information:

The Leadership & Organization Effectiveness Consultant works a hybrid schedule flexing time between a home and office environment.

Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
