Financial Services Internship

Duration: May – August 2022 internship position in St. Louis, MO.

This would be a hybrid work situation.

About the Position:

Ameren is seeking a financial planning and analysis intern to support the Financial Services team.

A financial planning and analysis intern would support the business performance specialists in the Financial Services team. The intern would support areas that may include assisting with the annual budget, monthly reforecasting, month end closing processes and financial variance analysis.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide support, on an as needed basis, to all groups within Financial Services: Missouri, Transmission, B&CS Corporate and Digital business performance teams and Missouri Regulatory.

  • Assist and perform routine accounting duties associated with the monthly close process, including accruals, labor transfers and reclassifications.

  • Maintain proper accounting records and documentation.

  • Assist with work order creation and initiation.

  • Assist with monthly variance analysis and reporting.

  • Assist with accumulating data to respond to inquiries.

  • Assist other departments with issues relating to financial data/information.

  • Assist department with special projects as assigned including preparation of specialized reports and confidential documents. Assist personnel with all accounting related information as requested; including API, iProcurement and iExpense.

Qualifications:

Must be in student status (graduate or undergraduate) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university required. Cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required. Completed course work through the junior level with a CGPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, a successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

  • Be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
