About the Position

Ameren Services provides support to Ameren Corporation and its operating companies, subsidiaries and affiliates. Thousands of co-workers serve the company with business planning, communications, diversity, financial support, human resources, digital/information technology, legal counsel, safety and supply services skillsets.

Within our Digital department, we host dozens of interns and co-ops annually. Our collegiate co-workers will participate in meaningful work activities related to analysis, assessment, design, collaboration and more! Coaching and feedback are a key part of your co-op experience. You will have the opportunity to work with talented, experienced digital staff while completing your work assignments.

The collegiate program provides students with valuable work experience as well as providing Ameren with a source of highly talented candidates for full time positions.

This opportunity is available for the following timeframes:

January-August 2022 Spring Co-op

May-December 2022 Fall Co-op

May-August 2022 Summer Internship


Current student with at least 60 college credit hours completed. Student must be pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Business, Accounting, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent business or computer-related field from an accredited college or university required with a GPA of 2.5 or above.

In addition to the above qualifications, a successful candidate will:

  • Act as a liaison between leaders, stakeholders, vendors and Ameren Digital to document, analyze and communicate key drivers of strategy and culture efforts

  • Champion a culture that supports learning and growth by integrating knowledge, experience and value to support accurate Ameren Digital decision making

  • Gather requirements from leaders, stakeholders and other parties to deliver on initiatives

Candidates have the potential to be placed in a co-op position supporting one of the following workloads.

An Enterprise Content Management Business Process intern/co-op will:

The Enterprise Content Management Team is responsible for enterprise search and content housing, classification, and organization. The team conducts collaborative and transactional data housing, classification, and metadata analysis. The team also supports and maintains our SharePoint, OneDrive, and Intranet platforms.

  • Assist with day-to-day support of our content management platforms including SharePoint and OneDrive.

  • Support the analysis and migration of content from legacy content systems to modern systems.

  • Play a key role in team projects including software upgrades and development of SharePoint and/or Form solutions.

An Infrastructure Automation Business Process intern/co-op will:

The Infrastructure Automation team drives operational excellence by working with our Digital and Business Line partners to reduce repetitive technical tasks and provide simplified, standardized, automated solutions to streamline the provisioning and management of internally hosted Infrastructure solutions.

  • Works with stakeholders to identify and clarify business requirements.

  • Directs and owns process/system changes and reviews process changes to ensure design changes meet business requirements.

  • Analyzes data to help quantify business value of new automation requests where applicable.

  • Work with the team to refine user stories in Jira for new work.

  • Appropriately documents user acceptance criteria for new work.

An Operational Excellence intern/co-op will:

The Digital Technology and Operations (DTO) Operational Excellence team is responsible for creating and executing business processes across lifecycle management, demand management, talent and workforce, digital adoption, service level management, and cyber compliance.

  • Support the understanding of business priorities to ensure the delivery of high value activities listed in the above processes.

  • Collaborate with full time Operational Excellence teammates to create documentation, reports, and presentations.

  • Create opportunities for collegiate engagement across DTO by designing and facilitating networking and learning sessions.

  • Attend and participate in cross-functional sessions to gather information.

  • Champion a continuous improvement mindset focused on driving efficiencies.
