About The Position

The Continuous Improvement (Engagement) Manager is responsible for directing and supporting the day to day operation of the Lean Continuous Improvement Process, working with business line personnel in integrating the Lean Process throughout the Ameren businesses, diagnosing the key areas for productivity improvement, prioritizing potential continuous improvement projects, overseeing the implementation of these projects, coaching and training continuous improvement personnel in the application of improvement efforts, and reporting the progress of improvement efforts to site leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with business leaders to become the trusted advisor for performance improvement.

  • Help leaders develop and deploy the business line's functional strategy, in alignment with enterprise objectives, throughout their organization.

  • In conjunction with business partners, develop, manage, and execute the CI engagement plan for the business, including targeted results, problems to solve, and deployment and increasing maturity of the CI management system within the organization.

  • Lead significant transformation efforts as program manager, CI leader, or both.

  • Coach and develop business partners through the entire CI system, including process design and management, performance improvement, leader standard work, and change management.

Participate with other CI team members to develop and improve the Ameren CI System, including standards, training, and other related materials

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University required. Bachelor’s degree in an analytical discipline (e.g., engineering, science, business) preferred. Master's degree in an analytical discipline from an accredited University preferred. Seven years of total experience required (for example, CI, engineering, operations, finance, supply chain, project management), including three or more years of experience in facilitating and leading Lean, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, or Continuous Improvement efforts required. Experience in multiple functional areas and/or industries preferred. Previous supervisory or high-level team/project leadership experience required. Previous experience in Lean, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, or Continuous Improvement deployment or business transformation preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel required. Proven ability to manage large projects required. Proven ability to analyze complex data required. Basic knowledge of Lean Continuous Improvement techniques required for Levels I and II; thorough knowledge of Lean Continuous Improvement techniques required for Levels III and IV. A demonstrated ability to build trust with teams and influence leaders is preferred for Levels I and II, and is required for Levels III and IV.
