Job Description

The People Analytics & Insights Specialist will report to the CHRO and provide strategic analytical and technical expertise to HR colleagues across business units. This person will design and execute standard reports, complex statistical models and other projects designed to provide business and HR leaders with insights from people data to identify actionable insights and predict future people needs. They will apply expertise in quantitative analysis and storytelling with data to deliver impactful and meaningful insights to drive business decisions that build strategic advantage, mitigate risk and create ROI.

This is an emerging HR discipline that provides the company with critical insight into how to best leverage our greatest asset—our people!

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CHRO to implement the Human Resources analytics efforts in support execution of strategy developed by leadership. Play a pivotal role measuring the effectiveness of our human resource program, which will include identifying issues, forming hypotheses and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations.

  • Determine and implement an analytics capability framework that enables a shift from stand-alone reporting to sophisticated, predictive models in support of strategic initiatives.

  • Use a variety of established quantitative and qualitative methods (including surveys, focus groups, database mining, etc.) to gather, analyze, and interpret research data and derive useful information for key business initiatives, working across and synchronizing multiple data sources.

  • Design and develop useful metrics, predictive models, dashboards, analyses and data reporting to support a variety of HR and business initiatives and to measure the effectiveness of business outcomes.

  • Define and implement data reporting tools, reports, metrics, and dashboards. Identify gaps in data reporting and provide recommendations for more efficient reporting. Develop data reporting policies and establish parameters to ensure quality and accuracy of data. Make sound recommendations for improvements to ensure long term success of data collection and reporting.

  • Perform data analysis and forecasting, identify patterns and summarize and communicate findings using visualization tools. Convert complex data into visually appealing presentation formats/dashboards and deliver to audiences at all levels. Propose and evaluate new methods and introduce novel visualization and presentation approaches to communicate discoveries.

  • Participate in problem-solving investigation and analyses to make recommendations to HR/business leaders to effectively assist them with decision making on operational or other business issues

  • Provide training to internal/external stakeholders on data interpretation, data evaluation, statistical and analytical techniques.

Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, I/O Psychology, or closely related field with an emphasis on research design, data modeling, and analytics along with a minimum of two (2) years of information analysis experience. Advanced degree substituted for years of experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis, visualization, modeling and presentation.

  • Ability to handle, and maintain the confidentiality of, highly sensitive information and handle multiple projects and competing priorities across a diverse set of stakeholders, with the ability to cover other HR tasks they arise

  • Strong applied mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills to design and interpret predictive, descriptive and inferential statistics

  • Skilled in statistical techniques like regression and predictive modeling, data mining, text analytics, survey

  • sampling, and data collection strategies

  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical software use

  • Strong collaboration and team building skills

  • Demonstrated expertise with Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree

  • Demonstrated experience with Cognos, Tableau and Power BI

  • High level of proficiency with SAS or SPSS

  • Demonstrated skill in various business intelligence and data visualization packages (Tableau, PowerBI strongly preferred)

  • Aptitude to efficiently learn new statistical modeling approaches independently on the job and effectively implement them to meet organizational needs
