By joining the Centuri GroupSafety, Health, Environmental, and Quality(SHEQ)team, you help us in supporting our operational partners in the commitment to continuous improvement. As a team, we manage the successful implementation of SHEQ programs and are primary contributors to the creation of program standards, safety training, auditing processes, and safety culture. Our goal is to provide subject matter expertise to the business to support our customers’ needs, regulatory compliance, and, most importantly, our employees’ well-being.
Reporting to the SHEQ Regional Manager, as theManager of Safety, Health, Environment & Quality, you will manage and audit all aspects of our program, serving as a leader of the local team, acting as a champion of our policies and procedures.
Operating Area: Springfield, MA, Great Hartford and New Haven regions

What You'll Do
Manage a team of SHEQ staff to support safety and quality initiatives
Oversee all safety, health, environmental, quality, and auditing programs
Interface with customers and clients on incidence, accidents and presenting improvement plans
Define goals aligned with company business plan objectives and safety department vision
Provide instruction as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on safety and quality tasks and Operator Qualifications
Manage and conduct on-site safety assessments of crews
Investigate incidents and use root cause analysis to generate corrective actions
Complete internal quality control audits and communicate audit findings
Manage drug and alcohol program and maintain safety documentation
Assist in the risk assessment and hazard control of new projects and tasks
Perform other tasks as requested by leadership
What You'll Have
High School Diploma or equivalent
2+ years’ experience managing or leading a team
3 years’ experience in safety, health, environmental quality, and/or regulatory compliance in pipeline safety or gas experience

Work Environment
Some work is performed in the field at construction sites; field work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
Must be able to sit, stand, and/or crouch for extended periods of time
Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
Flexibility to work varying schedules and stay late when necessary
Travel required within the state routinely and out of state occasionally
Legal Stuff

Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
