NiSource Intern Communications in Springfield, Massachusetts

Receive hands-on corporate communications and design experience through enhancing communication content across our internal and external channels including video, intranet, customer email, websites, social media, etc. This communications role supports the NiSource Corporate Affairs team across our seven local distribution companies.The internship is for Summer 2018

Position will be located at the Springfield Massachusetts Customer Operations Center


Partner with corporate communications to refresh creative and content for internal and external channels

Assist a digital transformation team focused on enhancing our online experience

Write content for external print material, such as notices, inserts, brochures and door hangers

Proofreading of various communication materials

Digital asset management

Support other projects, as assigned, with content and graphic design

Write content for the intranet, social media and new websites launching in spring 2018

Participate in digital transformation team efforts as needed

Partner with corporate communications to refresh creative and content for customer emails and campaigns


Incumbent is required to be a student at an accredited university or college

Study in strategic communications, journalism/public relations, digital communications or related field is preferred

Video experience (including shooting, editing)

Must be proficient in standard design software (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Office products such as PowerPoint

Possess excellent oral and written skills

Strong sense for brand management through design and layout

High-performance individual eager to learn and ready to take ownership of assigned duties
